Hayley, In regard to your PMT symptoms, I have found with my patients that some including myself had the symptoms pretty much vanish once fructose was removed. For others I had to give their livers a bit of help (just some liver herbs for a short while and in some cases the odd mineral formula to replace whats been depleted) to get them back to functioning optimally. It's a very individual thing. That seems to take care of the type of symptoms you mention. You see the liver is a major detoxifying organ and one of its crucial jobs is dealing with hormones. When your liver doesnt work effectively (which occurs for a myriad of reasons especially with todays lifestyle and environment) then it causes a huge chain reaction of problems in the body which often seem completely unrelated. We in my profession are often criticized and made fun of for always dealing with the liver and the gut before anything else but there is VERY good reason for it. Finally I think that the results my patients have had is more proof of the damage that fructose does to the liver. By the way Oestrogen is cardio protective in women which is why at menopause (when oestrogen levels decrease) we are at greater risk of heart disease. Interestingly high oestrogen levels in men have recently been proven to be a heart disease risk factor.
There I go again David - Miss Verbose! |

Hi Lani and thanks for all your help,
Another reason to avoid fructose.. minimise these horrible symptoms!
Actually Ive noticed absence of uncontrollable ache for sugar this month... craving peanut butter instead for some reason?!?
I am actually taking Livatone plus and hoping this will be of benefit.
Its great hearing from someone in the profession and experience about what works is precious, so thank you! |

Eek!
This brand is apparently 100 percent peanuts, no added sugar... but for some reason i still have my reservations. Anything that pretends to be something its not (a legume posing as a nut!) is suspicious to me! |

| Hayley wrote: | | Thanks David. I have done a bit of reading and found minimal info. A few "hormones for dummies" type books refer to a phemomenon of "oestrogen overload" which they claim is increasing exponentially in society.. Definitely suggests it could be related to increased consumption of fructose. |
Estrogen is increased by being overweight. Obesity feminizes men by opposing testosterone with estrogen.
