The Sweet Truth: sugar-free TV show on 4ME channel

I just caught a glimpse of a sugar-free cooking show on the 4ME channel (you might have to tune it in, if you don't have that channel). It's about a lady that cooks vegan, sugar-free and gluten free foods. I think she uses sweeteners though, which isn't my thing and I'm not sure if she uses agave syrup (which is 90% fructose) so make sure to do your research before following her recipes. Anyway, it's kinda cool that there's a sugar-free cooking show on TV, regardless.

Hi Silver Angel. I'm not sure what number to tune into, but if you choose the automatic tuner method on your TV, it should run through all of the channels and pick up any new ones that you don't have tuned in. Most of the time they are showing infomercials, so it was cool to see this tv show.

4me I think is 74? I heard on the radio just this morning in the news, experts say sugar is bad, the fructose effects our brain and we overeat.  I think it was actually nice hearing that on the news!
Silver Angel

Amen to that, Janelle....thanks for that....I like to watch Psychic TV on 74...I am tuned in, thanks, boo   lol   I was just being lazy & not looking it up for myself....just wanted to chat a bit more... Rolling Eyes  Laughing

I wish you all a Happy New Year, with abundance in all things, including willpower    Very Happy

Honestly, I don't think I can fit in another cooking show. Have Yes Chef, Jamie Oliver, Justine Schofield, Masterchef, Hart of the BBQ, and a couple of others! Only so much time Smile

Stopped watching Good Chef, Bad Chef, coz she was driving me batty. Loved what Adrian does, but honestly, her disapproving looks made me cancel the season pass.

Oh Sylvia I'm sorry you had a tough time over the break. Hope you are back on the wagon soon.

DJ, I know what you mean about Good chef, Bad chef, I actually once wrote to hr about Agave syrup, but, of course, she's all for show & i never did get a reply....I stopped watching her for that same reason....!!

Yes, After Sunday, (12th night), I will be have dismantled Xmas & chucked out the rest of the Xmas cake & etc....the Lindt choc balls Kev got me will go in the fridge and be my occasional treat....Once I get my mind made up, I can do that,no problem.

I have been enjoying the tennis, when off the computer, no exercise....going for a little shopping today..need a few things.

Have a great day, hope it's not too hot for you guys in the other States, Sydney is forecast to be only 27 on the Coast & 30 in the West...so keep cool
folks.... Very Happy

I don't know if you guys have figured it out already, but the woman on the show mostly uses agave syrup and artificial sweeteners.

Sorry Sad

Thank goodness I didn't watch it. I would have thrown something at the screen! Eeeeuuuuuwww.

Of course if you want, you can substitute rice malt syrup for the agave. But I have better success changing current recipes into sugar free.

That's too bad. On one hand it's good that going "sugar-free" is coming into the consciousness, but on the other hand it also highlights which people and chefs are doing it because it seems like a good idea, and those who actually understand about fructose, why and the correct way to do sugar free. What's wrong with glucose powder/dextrose? I also don't think rice syrup is that popular in america. I hope this cooking show doesn't mislead people.
