Archive for The Sweet Poison Forum A place for people who have stopped killing themselves with fructose

Hello out there!

Hi.  Just thought that I would introduce myself.  My name is Rebecca.  My family - hubby, 2 sons and 1 daughter - have made a life choice to go fructose-free.  It has only been 4 days since we began the program.

So far we are all enjoying our selves.  The withdrawls have not been that bad.  There have been no mood swings (yet) or tantrums either.  It has actually been a very nice transition.

The reason for writing is that I have a few questions that I would like the answers too.  The first question:  When can I start to introduce dextrose home made treats/sauce back into our diet?  Second question:  when - one average - does one's natural appetitie control start to come into play?

Looking forward to hearing from some of you! Razz

Hi Rebecca and congrats to you and your family for making that choice to be fructose free.  You can start using dextrose to make things, it's more of a warning that when your still going through withdrawal, you sometimes tend to eat more and while eating all the dextrose treats you may infact put weight on.  Your appetite control will kick in but don't be too disheartened because it may take some time.  The changes can be quite slow, and it will take your body time to rid of all the bad toxins.  Everyone's journey is different and you will all experience different withdrawal symptoms.  Just stick with it.

Hi Rebecca,
We too have 3 kids & went sugar-free for whole family today (I have been reducing my personal intake for 2 weeks now). My hubbie & I are going cold-turkey from today, but I am going a bit more gently with the kids.  I am very interested to hear how your kids are going & what substitutes you are using for them before you introduce the dextrose cooked goodies.  I am wondering about all of that for them too.

Welcome Smile

Personally I've found I can cut back serves easily but am finding it difficult still to not eat before bed (I have a 'need' to have a full tummy them). Next hurdle Wink
